Gemini 3.5 Flash, Antigravity, and the Agentic Web: Websites Are Becoming Action Infrastructure

At Google I/O 2026, Google described a shift from prompts to action. The developer announcement centered on Gemini 3.5 Flash, updates to the Gemini API and AI Studio, and the continued evolution of Google Antigravity as an agent-first development platform. In plain English: AI systems are getting faster, more capable, and more focused on completing workflows.

This has direct consequences for websites. A website can no longer be treated as a static brochure. In the agentic web, it becomes infrastructure for understanding, comparison, and action.

From content pages to action surfaces

For years, businesses optimized pages so users could find information. The next phase is optimizing pages so agents can understand information and complete tasks around it. That may include comparing services, checking requirements, preparing a shortlist, starting an intake, collecting documentation, or routing a user to the right next step.

Even if your site does not expose advanced APIs, it still needs a clear action model. What can someone do here? Request a quote? Book a consult? Download a report? Compare service tiers? Submit project details? Join a waitlist? The easier this is to identify, the more useful your site becomes in agent-assisted workflows.

Why Gemini 3.5 Flash matters

Google positioned Gemini 3.5 Flash as a model built for speed and action. Faster reasoning changes expectations. Users will expect AI systems to evaluate more sources, understand more context, and help move tasks forward without the friction of repeated manual searches.

For businesses, this means vague content becomes a liability. If your offer, process, proof, eligibility, pricing context, and next steps are unclear, agents may skip you in favor of a competitor whose information is easier to use.

How to prepare your website for agentic workflows

1. Define every action. Make forms, booking links, downloads, calls, and quote requests clearly labeled and easy to find.
2. Structure service information. Use consistent templates for what the service is, who it is for, benefits, process, proof, FAQs, and next steps.
3. Reduce ambiguity. Agents need precise language around locations, categories, timelines, industries served, requirements, and constraints.
4. Create machine-readable context. Use clean HTML, logical headings, internal links, schema, and descriptive metadata.
5. Connect content to systems. Where appropriate, connect forms, CRM routing, scheduling, and analytics so digital intent becomes operational follow-through.

The future of AI search is operational

The future of AI search is not only "which pages get cited?" It is also "which businesses can be acted on?" A brand that is easy for agents to evaluate and engage will have an advantage over a brand that forces every user to interpret vague marketing copy manually.

The takeaway

Google's developer and Search announcements point in the same direction: agents will become a normal part of how people discover, decide, and do things online. Websites that combine strong content with clear action infrastructure will be better prepared for that future.
